He studied audiovisual communication at the Complutense University in Madrid and directing at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio de los Baños in Cuba. Rosete was invited to the Berlinale Talent Campus at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2003. Martin wrote, directed and produced his first 35mm short film, ''(Revolución )'', at the age of 21 with the support of the Instituto de las Ciencias y las Artes Audiovisuales, the Madrid community and Canal+. ''Revolución'' is based on a short story by Slawomir Mrozek and features Miguel Rellán in the lead role. It won more than 50 prizes internationally and Martin managed to obtain distribution contracts with Canal+ Spain, Canal+ International, TVE International and FNAC. It was co-produced by the well-known Basque producer Koldo Zuazua, who has led production for well known cineasts such as Julio Medem or Luiso Berdejo. Koldo Zuazua also produced the second 35mm short film by Martín Rosete, ''A falta de pan'', which features actors such as Álex Angulo, co-star of ''(Pan's Labyrinth )'', Carlos Alvarez-Nóvoa and Amparo Beached. It has won nine international film prizes, was broadcast by Canal+, and has been distributed in France and Japan. After producing various advertisements, corporate videos and short films with his brother José, Martín travelled to New York on a full grant by the Fundación La Caixa to do a two-year master's degree at the New York Film Academy.〔(Obrasocial )〕 As a result, Martín has directed ''Paper or Plastic'' and ''Basket Bronx'', broadcast on 11 February 2009 by Canal+ to compete for the Canal+ short film prize. In 2011, Rosete directed ''Voice Over'', starring Jonathan D. Mellor. This short film has been nominated to the Spanish Academy Award and to the Melies D'or. It has been selected in festivals like Tribeca, San Sebastian or Clermont Ferrand, and has won more than 40 awards so far.
